Why 2-in-1's are NOT your quick fix

Why 2-in-1's are NOT your quick fix

Shampoo and conditioner 2-in-1's may seem like the quick fix for efficient washing of your hair guys, but the damage far outweighs the speed.

Daniel Davies, manager of the chains Pall Mall Barbers, said it best in his interview with Business Insider. "2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner products simply do not work."

Shampoo cleans the hair by opening the hair cuticles and essentially drying the hair out, clearing any dirt along the way. Conditioner's main purpose is to remoisturize the hair and close those open cuticles.

The problem with 2-in-1 is that "a single product cannot open and close the cuticle at the same time," Davies said.

'The hair gets cleaned, but the "conditioner" part of the product only coats the hair with silicone, which doesn't "close" the hair's cuticles."

At ShamDude, we keep our shampoo and conditioner separate for that reason. Not only should you let both the shampoo and conditioner sit in your hair after lathered for best effect, the two need to be separated.

2-in-1's create more unmanageable hair that begs to be cleaned more because it never really got cleaned in the first place.
